Hearts...

My 4 year old has a mullet...and other randomness

Yes. You read that title correctly. My four year old, better known as Peanut, as a mullet. Okay. I may be exaggerating a little but probably not.

Stop laughing immediately. I am not there yet. I am not ready to laugh.

You are probably also snickering remembering when your little one cut their own hair. How you were so mad, and cried, and now you can laugh about it. Well like I said I am not there yet. And by the way, did I mention that she didn't do it to herself...AN ADULT DID. To be more specific my precious father in law did.

They kept Shelby for me while Shane and I took Grace to have her surgery Monday. Apparantely Shelby was playing with some "slime" and got it in her hair. Instead of trying to wash it out with water my father in law just cut it out of her hair. The "slime" is water soluable. Yes  you read that right. I cried all the way to work this morning. What is wrong with the men of this world?? Why?? Why would you cut a childs hair without trying to rinse it first?? Dear Lord Why?

I have to move on before I start crying again.

Grace is doing really well with her recovery. She is still having some nausea but I think that is just the anesthesia coming out of her system. She is upset that she can't do some things but that will pass. The recovery is the most important part of this surgery.

Please pray for the Blackburn family. They are going thru an illness in their family that is heartbreaking for all of us. Please pray that the Lord will touch them and show mercy to their family.

I hope everybody is having a good week...
XOXO

Pictures and an Update...

Grace went into hernia surgery yesterday morning with some fear and reservations. She was scared. Her daddy and I did the best we could to reassure her and let her know that God was there. He had it taken care of.

The surgery went great, as we knew it would. Dr. K did a great a job and said that we should have this thing licked. Great news!

We made it home okay and after somewhat of a rough night she is doing much better this morning. I praise God because I know He had His hand on her thru the entire procedure.

Wrapping Up VBS...

Today in church we wrapped up our week of Vacation Bible School. The kids had so much fun!

Here are some more pictures...

Our mission for this week was The Hope Project. We promised the kids that if they raised $100 they could put shaving cream on Mrs. Denise's head, $200 Mrs. Denise and Mrs. Casey, $300 Mrs. Denise, Mrs. Casey, and Pastor Bruce! Well low and behold we  raised over $400 dollars for The Hope Project. Wade, another VBS leader, was then thrown in the mix!

I am so proud of all the kids for learning their verses, and the songs and working hard for The Hope Project! It was a wonderful week!

Randomness...

As the sun sets on another week around the G household I realize how busy we have been this past week...and how busy our coming week will be.

We had vacation bible school at church this week and I am here to tell you I don't know about the kids but that has worn me out! Getting home after 9pm each night has been challenging but the girls have soaked up every moment of bible school and I get to hear them rehash everything the next morning on the way to school. It is like breathing fresh God air.

They have learned the songs and Shelby is in love with dancing on stage with Denise. Grace said her bible verse in front of everybody last night. My heart almost burst out of my chest.

On top of bible school, daddy has also been on night shift. That makes things a little harder around our parts. He isn't there to greet us when we come running in the door. As a matter of fact we don't run in the door when he isn't there. Our time together this week as been widdled down to 10 minutes in the morning and lots of phone calls. I am not a fan of night shift but hey, it pays the bills.

Next week will be another busy week. Butter Bean is having surgery Monday morning super early. Why must we be there before McDonalds even opens?! No one should be up that early. Unless you are working night shift of course.

She is having another hernia surgery and this go round I am putting all my worry at the feet of my Lord. I will be brave and strong for my baby and focus solely on taking care of her.

The goals this weekend are to relax and enjoy life. (Maybe clean a potty or two).

We covet your prayers as we head into this coming week....

How has your week been?

(Please also say a prayer for the Blackburn family as they go thru a tough time in their lives...I know that God will touch them and show them His mercy.)
